Seoul's Garden Restaurant

REVIEW
restaurant: Seoul's Garden Restaurant
food: average
atmosphere: Zero
Service: Zero

this restaurant is located in the heart of Bur Dubai. Seoul's Garden interiors looked like a hotel lobby. they have a reception counter and a waiting area in the middle of the restaurant. there are no open dining table. Diners sit in small rooms "cabins" and eat alone (very boring).

anyway, we were ushered to a cabin and the waiteress placed 1 menu only on the table (we were two).so, we shared the menu to see what to eat.
the menu consisted of: main course, side dishes, no appetizers and no desserts.

we ordered a side dish to go instead of appetizers. deep fried shrimps, sea food rice cakes, sea food pancake. For main course, i ordered the pan fried beef ribs (traditional korean dish) and my partner ordered crab stew.

Left to right: Kimchi (popular korean pickle), yellow tofu, pickle beans, cabbage pickles, fried cubes of potato with spices and spinach or bok choy pickles.

they cut the fatty beef ribs with scissors and knife and placed on the heated pan. this brown paste on the plate is bean sauce and it tastes like medicine.

the beef is on the pan, and the waiteress explains that the beef is traditionally sandwiched in a leave of lettuce and filled with pickles tofu or bean sauce. i've only tried it with kimchi.

these two dishes are appetizers, but it didn't arrive till the beef was cooked. i guess this pasta-like dish was sea food rice cakes (the waitress didn't give us the chance to ask) it tasted like gnocchi. the yellow thing in the black pot was something like scrambled egg, i have no idea whats it was and i dont think we ordered this dish.

its called sea food pancake or pizza.

my partners crab stew, the curry tasted like tum yum soup and the crabs were really fresh and yummy..
Overall, the menu was complicated, not enough description. the food was average if not poor. so many selections but it all tasted the same (mostly sour and sweet). The beef was too greasy. personally, i'd rather sit in my living room and have dinner alone than sit in that windowless cabin with a partner.
lastly, i think Seoul's Garden Restaurant is not recommended. Only if you really fancy authentic korean food.
